Set closers reflected two different eras of the band. Rising to the top of the stage in darkness, a white light silhouetted Hansen’s body creating an aura around him, lending a very real-life interpretation of the song. Hansen took on the persona of a “Juke Box Hero” when the song was cued for the set. Wearing shades, and printed sport coat with matching scarves that complemented his clean-limbed frame, Hansen took his role as front man seriously - gyrating, bending and flexing his agile body, inviting the audience to join him, which they did. He brought a harder rock edge to the music with bombastic vocals, pumping the lyrics of every song to the hilt. When The Greatest Hits Of Foreigner Tour came to Santander Performing Arts Center in Reading in October, the band made their intention of going for the throat clear. A trifecta of opening songs “Double Vision,” “Head Games” and “Cold As Ice” grabbed the audience’s attention fast and set the mood for the rest of the night. More than 40 years after their self-titled debut release, Foreigner’s music continues to thrive. Netflix dug into the rock band’s treasure chest of tunes, placing “Hot Blooded” and “Cold as Ice” on a Stranger Things series’ soundtrack release.
